The Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park, which is Tamil Nadu’s biggest and best preserved sanctuary, nestles in the towering Western Ghats south of the Palghat Gap, better known as Anaimalais (Mountain of Elephants). This sanctuary sprawls over 958 sq km, and teems with a rich assortment flora and fauna. It is 93 kms from Coimbatore.

Palani Arulmigu Shri Dhandayuthapani temple is one of the Six Abodes of Murugan. It is located in the town of Palani in Dindigul, 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Coimbatore and northwest of Madurai in the foot-hills of the Palani hills, Tamil Nadu, India. Athirappilly Falls, is situated in Athirappilly Panchayat, Chalakudy Taluk, Thrissur district of Kerala, India on the Chalakudy River, which originates from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. At the entrance to the Sholayar ranges is the largest waterfall in Kerala, Athirapally, which stands tall at 80 feet. Just a short drive from Athirapally, the Vazhachal waterfall in Thrissur is close to dense green forests that are home to many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna.
